Hosh Ibrahim to Receive the Evening’s Highest Honor, With Durand Bernarr and Vini Ravelon Among Those Celebrated at the Black Excellence Gala & Awards in Paris

PARIS, FRANCE, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Global Black Pride will honour Hosh Ibrahim, Niecy Nash-Betts, Lady Phyll, Durand Bernarr, YouTube, ViiV Healthcare, the Republic of South Africa, Vinii Revlon, and leading LGBTQ+ community organisations at its 2026 Black Excellence Gala & Awards.

Hosted by Vinii Revlon, the seated dinner gala will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Espace Reuilly, 21 Rue Antoine-Julien Hénard, 75012 Paris. The evening will feature celebrity guest appearances and special live performances, bringing together leaders, artists, advocates, organisers, and allies from across the global Black diaspora.

The evening's highest honour, the newly established Hosh Ibrahim Humanitarian Award, will be presented to its namesake as its inaugural recipient. Named in recognition of Ibrahim's humanitarian contributions across Africa and beyond, the award will honour the British-born leader of Sudanese and Egyptian heritage whose career spans philanthropy, governance, health equity, and human rights. His work reflects the values at the heart of Global Black Pride: dignity, solidarity, and a belief that every community deserves to live freely and fully.

Niecy Nash-Betts will receive the Icon Award, recognising her impact across entertainment, culture, and advocacy. Lady Phyll will be honoured with the Legacy Award in recognition of her lasting leadership and contribution to the global Black LGBTQ+ movement. Durand Bernarr will receive Global Entertainer of the Year.

The Republic of South Africa will receive the Global Equality Leadership Award. YouTube will be honoured with the Global Digital Impact Award, while ViiV Healthcare will receive the Global Black Pride Vanguard Award for HIV Innovation. Host Vinii Revlon will also receive the Cultural Impact Award.

The Global Community Impact Award will be presented to Pan Africa ILGA and BI-FWI (Bokantaj Inclusion French West Indies), recognising their regional leadership in advancing rights, building community power, and sustaining LGBTQ+ movements across Africa and the Caribbean/French West Indies. BI-FWI is the Guadeloupe-based federation that established the territory's first LGBT+ centre and supported the organisers of its first Kréyòl Pride.

Global Black Pride will further celebrate African Pride Accelerated (APA), Atlanta Black Pride Weekend, Exec Event, and UK Black Pride as its 2026 Community Builders Honorees. Together, these organisations and platforms continue to create visibility, connection, celebration, and belonging for Black LGBTQ+ communities.

The Black Excellence Gala & Awards is a centrepiece of Global Black Pride Paris 2026, taking place September 9–13. The five-day gathering will feature cultural celebration, advocacy, and collective action, including the Global Black Pride Human Rights Conference, a march through Paris, and a major outdoor music festival.
